Spring Colors {Nails}

Happy Friday, ladies!

Working in a job that allows me to do nothing but stare at nothing but nail polish all day has really got me thinking about some nail polish trends that I have noticed lately and have been la-la-loving.
I'm that girl that tends to wear whatever color on her nails and whenever.
I don't plan my outfit around my nail color or plan my nail color around the season.
I've been known to rock a bright turqouise in the dead of winter.

So, since I've been oober excited for Spring/Summer I've been loving some pale pinks, tans, and bright colors!
Here is what I'm obsessed with so far.

Neutrals
Zoya: Pandora
 I'm obsessed with this color because it has a hint of shimmer but not to much! Sometimes I have a hard time liking neutrals because I feel like after two days they look blah but this color doesn't because of the hint of shimmer.
Butter London: Tea with the Queen.
Butter London is a newer brand to me and I hadn't ever heard of it until I started working at my current job. However, I have officially am having an affair. I hope OPI doesn't find out and get to mad.
I would like to refer to this polish as nail polish God. It is the best nail polish for your nails because it is free of the three main ingrediants that are terrible for your nails: Formaldehyde, Toluene, and DBP.
I like this color because it is the PERFECT nude shade. Ya hear that ladies, perfect nude shade. Two coats and it is the perfect I'm not wearing any nail polish color shade. You'll love it.

Pale Pinks
{My favorites}
I'm really diggin the pale pink fad that is goin on right now! I have found that pale pinks look better with shorter round edge nails.
Essie: A crewed interest.
This is the color I have on my nails now and have had on for about three days! Which in nail polish world is a lot for me. I'm obsessed with it! Once I have a tan {that isn't a tan towel} it will look oh so gorg.
Essie: Fiji
I wore this color all of last spring, and by all of last spring I mean all of last spring. I was able to score another bottle of it and beyond excited. It is a really good mix between a pale/bright pink. Make sense? Didn't think so. It is such a different color and I get soooooo many compliments on it when I wear it!
Add it to your nail polish collection! You will not regret it.

Brights
Brights are always a nice way to spruce up an outfit in the spring! I have so many bright color nail polishs it is hard to pick!

Zoya: Charisma
Ladies, this color is my secret weapon, a game changer if you will. It goes on much much brighter than it looks in this bottle. It also goes on matte so you must use a top coat. But, it will just rock yo world. Yup, I'm this obsessed with a color. I will be rockin this on my toesies and fingers alllllll summer long. It screams pool party.
OPI: Fly
This is a great bright color and will look fantastic with a tan! It always helps with my boring outfits and adds that nice pop of color! I will say it stains my nails even if I use a base coat which really errkkks me!

What nail polish colors are you loving for spring/summer?
Have a fantastic weekend!

Everything is bigger in Texas!

Happy Thursday!
I can't believe tomorrow is Friday! Where did this week go?

This was a rather exciting week for me! Let me recap it for you.
Let's go back to Tuesday at about 1:00pm.
My bestie {Gabby} had sent me an email that Southwest was having a deal on flights and I should take a gander at them! I have been watching stalking  flights since she left in August and every airline has been hovering around 435.00 before taxes and those were with airlines who charge you to check baggage too!
Homegirl ain't got 435.00 bucks to spend.
Sorry, I love ya Gabby, but that is a lot of Starbucks.
So, I scurried onto Southwest.com and there it was: angel's singing.
I could fly roundtrip for 370.00 bucks! Don't get me wrong that is still expensive!
But, I love love love Southwest and that I don't have to pay for my bags!
scooooore.
I hit book faster than my computer would allow and now my ass is headed to Austin!
I'm so excited to spend four days with her and meet her new friends and this life she has made for herself there. Gabby has fallen in love with Austin and I'm just so excited for quality bonding time with her!
So, naturally my mind is now racing on what kind of outfits should I pack and what all accessories do I need? How many pairs of shoes can I fit in my carry on and my suitcase?
I've been messing around with polyvore and trying to find similiar things on there that represent something in my closet to create some looks I could take.
Wahla.
Spring Day
Perfect airport outfit.
Night Out
Outfit for night out at the "square" as Gabby calls it.
Everyday!
Perfect shopping/sight seeing outfit!

texas survival.
And feel like these are all neccessary as well.

Have any of you been to Austin? If so, did ya love it?
Hope you all have had a fabulous week.

Oodles of love

Braids galore!

Hiii my loves!
How was everyone's weekend? I hope it was just as fabulous as mine!
I got some wonderful friend & family time in this weekend.
Perfecto!

A few days ago I blogged briefly about how I was going to be a hair model in a local magazine here in Columbus!
{Columbus Alive}
They approached where I work and said they wanted to do a feature on our stylist and for her to come up with a few different style of braids because she felt that was a really big trend right now.
I tend to agree with her. Seems like everywhere I go someone is rockin a braid.
I've been known to rock a fishtail braid or loose braid every once in awhile.
These are the few she came up with.

Ladies & Gents..
This was the winner.

4 step braid.

There is the master piece.
Ok, yes, I know sista has got some major roots going on.
Since then they have been fixed.
Thank you hair gods.

My homegirl Alicia blogged about this already and I needed something to blog about today so I wasn't a blog slacker.
I'm such a blogger thief.
But, seriously it was a really cool experience. Even though I do not have one shot of my face in the article {although I do get a slight cheek shot..I'm sure maybelline will be calling soon} it was kind of weird!
They had cameras and flashes and these hoods to eliminate lighting if needed.
Crah-zay.
It was very exhausting to say the least, and it took me days to recover!
I mean I'm sure if you would like I can get you a copy of the magazine and autograph it for you.
I'm sure one day it will be worth at least 50 cents.
{side note: the magazine is free to the puble.}
I'm TOTALLY kidding people.

If you want to read the full article and try it out here is the link!
I will say I have shoulder length hair and I think that is what it will work best on.
I for one have zero patience and talent to recreate this braid, but, if you do PUHLEASE show me pictures so I can show the stylist who created this masterpiece.
That would make her day!

Do you guys agree with the article? Do you think braids are still trendy?

Oodles of love.

blog sale.

hiiii everybody.
I'm here to bring all of you great news! fantastic news possibly!
I went to plato's closet recently to try and sell some very very gently used clothing, purses, and shoes.
However, they apparently thought I had "idiot" written across my forehead!
No sir! I paid good money for those duds and am not allowing them to give me 5 bucks for something I may have paid 30 bucks for but barely even wore. Specially when they are going to sell it for 15!
Most of the stuff is BCBG, Charlotte Russe, Forever21, rah rah rah.
Some coach purses thrown into the mix.

I'll put pictures up and if you are interested in anything email me and I can send you additional pictures if you like or want to see a better picture. My iphone takes such faaantastic pictures.
By when I say gently used. I mean gently used! Most of the stuff I may have worn twice..max.
Have fun!

 Charlotte Russe Blazer- medium. Tags still attached! I paid 40..you can have it for 25!
 White one button blouse from forever 21! Never been worn! Size small. I paid 24.00 yours for 15!
 BCBG Generation tank. Fringe detail on the shoulders. Size medium. Worn one time. I paid 70 for. Yours for 40!
 BCBG Pairs booties. Size 8. Worn twice. Platform on bottom for extra support. I paid 79.99! Yours for 35.00!
 Charlotte Russe tan pumps. Never been worn. I paid 29.99! Yours for 15! Size 8!
 Charlotte Russe booties. Wore a few times. Size 7.5! 10 bucks!
 Candies patent leather peep toed pumps! Never been worn. Size 8. I paid 50.00 bucks. Yours for 30!
 Black medium size coach bag. I've used maybe 5 times. Just wasn't big enough to lug all my stuff around in! I paid 268! Yours for 150!
 Smaller boho style coach bag. My very first coach purse! Has been used a lot but still in good condition!  All yours for 50 bucks!
 Smaller shoulder size black coach purse. NEVER been used. I got it for 168. You can have it for 95.00 buck-a-roos.
 BCBG tank. Size xs. Runs a little big but it's nice because you can wear a regular bra with it. I've worn this bad boy ONE time. This is the sad part..I paid 96 dollars for it after my discount. I also own it in three colors. I'm selling it for 60.
The back. It's a really cool criss cross.

 this is probably the coolest BCBG thing I ever purchased. However, being 5'2 it's really hard to pull off because it is long in the front and super short in the back. The print is gorgeous. It is called a cardi wrap and you can wear it probably 10 different ways. I use to belt it with a tank under. You can wear it as a shaw blah blah blah.
Depressing part: After my discount I still paid 105 for it and I wore it ONE time. I think I need to see a therapist. It's a small. I'm selling it for 75.00! It really is a great piece to have.
back view.

I have more clothes that I wasn't willing to sell for cheap in my car but currently am toooooo lazy to get. So, I'm sure I'll be having another one of these soon.
Look for it over the weekend! It will be more of my forever 21 stuff and probably some more shoes and maybe some jewelry!
Let me know what you think. I'm willing to work a little on the prices as well!

Hope you have fun doing some shopping!

The time I rambled.

Oh hello there!
How ya been? How was your weekend?
I don't know why I'm typing in bold font today but I like it.

I have nothing to blog about today.
But, let's be real 99.7% of the time I have nothing to blog about and attempt to make it sound like I do and really all I manage to do is bore all of you to death.
Just like I am doing now.

These last few days I've been very annoyed. I'm not talking like someone forgot to text me back annoyed {but i do hate that.}
No, no, no.
I'm talking like the..

-Takes the very last bottle of water and doesn't replace any in the fridge so there isn't any cold ones
-Uses the last sheet of toilet paper and leaves the empty roll on the dispenser but yet gets up to get a new roll and leaves it sitting next to the toilet
JUST REPLACE THE DAMN ROLL!
-Complains about people using improper grammer and spelling. Listen, I slept through any class involving grammar and spelling. My blog, my rules. I really do try I just happen to be really sucky at it. Please don't yell at me!
-Paint my nails and then smudge my nails 3 seconds later
-When you are waiting for a tredmill to actually run but the highschool girls walking at a speed of 2.2 and texting the boys across the room are taking them up
-When your iphone will only hold a charge for up to 5 hours {pinterest,facebook, and twitter have NOTHING to do with wearing the battery down} and you forget to bring your charger with you

annoyed.

Those are just a few things that have happened to me in the past few days. I know I don't usually complain about things on my blog! But, phew! Sista has gotta complain!
Have you ever had a day{s} where you just want to scream and rip your hair out?

However, it wasn't all bad today. I got to participate in my first photo shoot, and by photo shoot I mean hair photo shoot.
Columbus Alive is a magazine here in Columbus and they are doing a story on braids as a trend and the hairstyle at my salon was featured and came up with this lovely number.
bam.

I promise tomorrow I will be more upbeat.
Actually, that's a lie. I will either be VERY happy or VERY sad.
I meet with my knee doctor one last time and he will tell me if I have to have one final knee surgery.
dun.dun.dun.
Thoughts and prayers please.

Ok, I'll shut up now.

Peace out.

Welcome to Club Paradise.

Happy Friday Errrbody.

Welcome to Club Paradise.
That is my homeboy, drizzy drake.

I had the pleasure of going to his concert last Saturday and since I had nothing else to babble on about today I thought I would blog about that.
I went with to his concert with my friend Jess {for her birthday} and it was a blast.
I'm not usually a fan of rap concerts but it was actually really good.
He did a really good job of interacting with the crowd but not much. I hate when artists talk way to much and perform to little. Drake is actually a really funny guy.
I'm pretty sure at one point he was extremely intoxicated, which is a-ok with me.
He took his shirt off at one point.
So, I was sold.
{Drizzy}

{Erica, Me, Jess}

{Birthday Girl}

{Errrica}

Between crashing a birthday partay before hand and hitching a hide with a complete stranger to the venue. Don't worry he turned out to be a very nice 19 year old civil engineer major. Jess falling in the middle of the street to hail a cab, and ripping her favorite J. Brand jeans. It was such a fun night.
Drake is one of my favorite rappers and when he sang "Motto" & "Headlines" I may or may not have been that crazy girl rapping every single line and dancing like a complete idiot.

Today I am spending my day off with this adorable little thing.

Have a great weekend everyone!
